Dutch level 2 (to A2)

The second-level courses Dutch are intended to improve simple understanding, speaking and writing of the Dutch language. According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, you will start at level A1 and obtain level A2. During level 2, English will still be used to explain the Dutch language. However, Dutch will be increasingly used as main instruction language.

Entry requirements

• Diploma of a secondary education and at least 10 years of education in country of origin.
• Students should have good knowledge of English to be able to follow the class.

- Homework: at least 5 hours a week
- Presence: it is important to attend all classes, at least 80%.

Dialang test
When in doubt about your level of Dutch proficiency, please use Dialang: https://dialangweb.lancaster.ac.uk/ to check if your level is minimum A1. After finishing the test(s), please make a screenshot of the results or save the feedback regarding your level and email it to the teacher.
There are a number of tests. You can either choose to do a couple of them or to do them all (the latter will take some time, but it will provide you with better input regarding your language proficiency level).

Warning: the tests on the Dialang-test site are no official tests, they are diagnostic tests! The main purpose of the tests is to inform language learners about their proficiency level and about language learning. Dialang should NOT be used for certification purposes.
